Medigap Plan C

Plan C is a type of Medicare Supplement insurance that helps cover some of the out-of-pocket costs not covered under Original Medicare, such as deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Plan C is, like all other supplement plans, standardized by the government, meaning that all Medigap Plan C policies must offer the same basic benefits, no matter where they are purchased.

Supplemental Plan C

Some of the benefits that Medigap Plan C covers include:

  • Part A hospital coinsurance and up to an additional 365 days of hospital coverage
  • Part B coinsurance or copayment
  • The first three pints of blood each year
  • Part A hospice care coinsurance
  • Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
  • Part A hospital deductible
  • Part B excess charges
  • Foreign travel emergency care

Medigap Plan C is considered as one of the more comprehensive Medigap plans available, providing a broad range of coverage that is more extensive than plans A and B. It covers all the benefits of Plan A and B, plus a few additional benefits.

Keep in mind that Medigap Plan C is not the right choice for everyone, and it’s important to consult with a Medicare expert before making a decision. The cost of the plan is also higher than other plans because of the added benefits.
